Disclaimer
This course reflects neurofeedback decision tree process and protocol selection based upon current knowledge in the field. Any given protocol may have an undesirable effect on a particular client. It is the responsibility of the clinician to evaluate the client, and if problems arise, to re-evaluate the client and/or seek consultation from another practitioner, to remediate these effects.
Release of Liability
During the practicum portion of the training course, you will have the opportunity to experience a session of neurofeedback. This session will occur without the full evaluation and assessment that is normally done in a clinical environment. Your participation is voluntary and is part of the learning experience. Although it is intended that the training be beneficial and positive, and usually is, since every person is different, we cannot guarantee that you won’t experience physical or emotional effects from the training which may be undesirable or unpleasant. By registering for this course, you release The Institute for Applied Neuroscience (IAN), EEG Learn, EEG Education & Research Inc. (EEGER), their shareholders, directors, officers, agents, employees, independent contractors, subsidiaries, successors and assigns, from any and all claims, suits, damages, liabilities, losses, costs and expenses (including attorneys’ fees), arising out of or related in any matter whatsoever to any neurofeedback session received during the training and/or the neurofeedback training received by you.
Practice Recommendation
As stated in the training course, you are strongly advised to undertake a period of self-training prior to using the techniques learned in this course in clinical practice. It is strongly recommended you work with neurofeedback and apply what you learned in the course to yourself, and perhaps family members and friends to gain understanding and competence in the application of this technology before commencing to train clients. We also recommend that you seek advice from experienced neurofeedback clinicians to support you during your learning process. Experience has shown that a practitioner will have much greater confidence in using these techniques if these guidelines are followed.
