Disclaimer and Release of Liability

By participating in this course:

  1. I understand that with neurofeedback, temporary side effects and adverse reactions are possible (see below). People living with a history of traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, depression, and/or developmental trauma can be more sensitive and reactive to training. Because of this additional complexity, working with these patients is not recommended for beginning neurofeedback clinicians.
  2. I understand and accept full responsibility for the possible risks of neurofeedback.
  3. I understand that EEGer is a prescription medical device, cleared by the FDA for general relaxation.
  4. I acknowledge that I understand the risks and will follow recommendations, and be open to feedback and guidance. I will begin by training myself, and check in regularly with my mentor with my questions and progress.

a. Even if I am a licensed healthcare provider, I will be supervised by a licensed and experienced EEGer neurofeedback clinician. The training kit is licensed for Home Use and therefore will require clinical supervision.

b. If I intend to practice neurofeedback as a clinician, I will get appropriate training and I will develop a relationship with an EEGer mentor, who can guide me in the clinical process, such as protocol development and the therapeutic/relational component of brain-training.

As part of the learning experience, my participation is voluntary. Although it is intended that neurofeedback training be beneficial and positive, and usually is, since every person is different, temporary, unpleasant, physical, or emotional effects from the training are possible.

By using the resources in the PIN workshop pages, I accept this disclaimer, and agree to indemnify and hold harmless EEG Learn/EEGER and anyone working with these organizations from any and all claims, suits, damages, liabilities, losses, costs and expenses arising from my neurofeedback experience as a result of these workshops.

About side effects and adverse reactions:

Every brain is unique, and different people respond to neurofeedback differently. Like a physical work-out, training your brain takes energy, and you may feel tired afterwards. Other effects that people have shared: feeling anxious, wired, focused, manic, lethargic, sleepless, off-balance, blissful, clear, motivated, or feeling no effect at all.  These effects are generally temporary. Your mentor may have you do a different kind of training to shift into a more stable, regulated state. Having a good relationship with a mentor is key.

Participant Attestation

Affirmation of Integrity. By participating in this learning opportunity, I affirm that I am the person registered for the course, the person doing the work for the course, and the person getting the credit for the course. I acknowledge that not acting ethically may lead to consequences, such as being removed from current and future events, not receiving CE credit, etc.

Code of Community Conduct. I affirm that I will abide by the EEG Learn code of community conduct, which protects me and other participants from violations of privacy and confidentiality, prohibits harassment and bullying, and encourages the cultivation of a culture of respect and care. I acknowledge I have read and understand the code of community conduct.

Continuing Education Credit. I understand that if I am seeking Continuing Education credit, I will need to meet the requirements to qualify, which may include signing in to live sessions, watching recordings, and completing assessments or evaluations.

Participation Waiver. I understand that if I participate in any live portion of the course, my audio, video, or chat messages may be featured in the session recording. By participating, I waive any right to approve the recording, and waive my right to any payment for participation.
 

Responsibility for Technology. I understand that it is my responsibility to participate with an adequate computer and internet access that allow my consistent participation. When encountering technical issues I will seek the necessary help from the appropriate sources.

Risk. Participants accept responsibility for any risks involved in implementing content shared during courses. Participants agree to indemnify and hold faultless EEG Learn, EEG Education & Research, and its partners for any negative outcomes.

  • This bundle requires shipping equipment to you. Please provide an address at checkout where you can receive shipments. Due to the value of the training kit, a signature is required.

  • You must attend the live practicum sessions to complete this course. Please check the schedule below for conflicts.
  • Some portions of the course are self-paced. We encourage starting as quickly as possible after registering!
  • This course provides access to the EEGer4 software for the duration of training. If you decide to continue using the EEGer4 software after training, you will need to purchase a separate Clinical Software License after you've completed this course.

Didactic & Self-Paced Portions
This bundle includes a self-paced didactic course intended to be completed prior to the first session of the EEGer Online Practicum. Students will also schedule a 1-hour individual mentoring session during the course of their training.

Additionally, 5 weekly 'button-ology' sessions are included. These are open office hours sessions that allow participants to ask clinical & technical questions and share results with the group. They are scheduled from 1pm to 2pm ET each week following the online practicum.

Additional Information About EEG Learn Content

Zoom & Meeting Links Meeting links are shared on EEG Learn in the My Library & Announcements section. We also send the link via email 3 hours prior and 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. If you are having trouble joining a session, please write to us at [email protected] for assistance.

Communication with EEG Learn The primary method we use for communication is email. Please ensure the email address provided at checkout is correct and that you remain subscribed to receive emails from EEG Learn. This allows us to provide necessary communication about the course, including meeting links and any changes.

If you are expecting an email from us, please make sure that you are checking the correct email address that you registered with, as well as checking your spam or junk folder. If a message from us is appearing there, you may need to tell your email client to keep messages of that type in the future. Course Updates & Information We notify participants via the EEG Learn website and by email when changes or updates are made to a course. Most of the time, this will be notifying participants that new handouts or information about the course is available. We try to avoid larger changes, but sometimes things like the presenter’s schedule require that. In those cases, we’ll extend the ability to defer or refund attendance, as appropriate. 

Session Recordings All sessions are recorded and will be available on EEG Learn following the course, usually within 1-2 weeks of when a live session happens. Please note that live attendance & participation is required to complete some courses, but most you can watch back at your own pace, or catch up on sessions that you miss. When session recordings become available, we’ll notify participants.

We make an effort to not include participants in the final session recordings for comfort and privacy reasons, but please be aware that audio, video, and chat messages you share may be present in the final session recordings. Situations where this may happen include: volunteering a question in chat or by raising your hand, leaving your microphone unmuted, or sharing information with the group.

If you would not like to be featured in the final session recording, please communicate with a member of our team during the live session. You may also reserve any questions or contributions until after the course to share and discuss on our community forum, an open space for ongoing discussion with staff, participants, and many of the presenters & mentors that we work with.

Continuing Education Credits EEG Education & Research (EEGER) is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. EEG Education & Research maintains responsibility for this program and its content. Courses that do not qualify for Continuing Education credits are noted during the checkout process. Participants demonstrate their understanding of a course’s learning objective by completing graded assessments. Assessments are published alongside the course evaluation and session recordings from a course. After completing the course and passing all assessments, a certificate of completion will be provided.
