Participant Attestation

Affirmation of Integrity. Brain Therapy: Neurofeedback and DBR in Trauma Treatment with Sebern Fisher

Join Sebern Fisher in an exploration of attachment rupture in brain development and how neurofeedback and DBR can be used for effective trauma treatment.

The combination of neurofeedback and DBR offer a promising approach for effective brain-based trauma treatment.

In this 1 hour & 40 minute exploration, Sebern goes into detail about the concept of attachment rupture, its role in developmental trauma, and why this idea is central to DBR's innovative approach to healing. The class also offers effective introduction to both neurofeedback and DBR, appropriate regardless of experience with either modality.

"As clinicians we are increasingly faced with serious mental illness, most of which has its roots in neglect, parental absence and/or abuse in early childhood. Recent research suggests the primacy of broken or unavailable attachment in the development of the most dreaded condition of all, “Borderline Personality Disorder”. The area of the brain most disrupted is the brainstem. This presentation will offer an overview of the reactive brainstem, will look at 'Borderline Personality' as an affect regulation problem that we can address with neurofeedback and will provide a brief overview of a relatively new therapeutic approach that targets the brainstem, Deep Brain Re-Orienting developed by Frank Corrigan, MD."

Course Updates & Information We notify participants via the EEG Learn website and by email when changes or updates are made to a course. Most of the time, this will be notifying participants that new handouts or information about the course is available. We try to avoid larger changes, but sometimes things like the presenter’s schedule require that. In those cases, we’ll extend the ability to defer or refund attendance, as appropriate.

Session Recordings All sessions are recorded and will be available on EEG Learn following the course, usually within 1-2 weeks of when a live session happens. Please note that live attendance & participation is required to complete some courses, but most you can watch back at your own pace, or catch up on sessions that you miss. When session recordings become available, we’ll notify participants.

We make an effort to not include participants in the final session recordings for comfort and privacy reasons, but please be aware that audio, video, and chat messages you share may be present in the final session recordings. Situations where this may happen include: volunteering a question in chat or by raising your hand, leaving your microphone unmuted, or sharing information with the group.

If you would not like to be featured in the final session recording, please communicate with a member of our team during the live session. You may also reserve any questions or contributions until after the course to share and discuss on our community forum, an open space for ongoing discussion with staff, participants, and many of the presenters & mentors that we work with.

Participants demonstrate their understanding of a course’s learning objective by completing graded assessments.
