Demystifying Neurofeedback with Leigh Povia

Join Leigh Povia for a two-hour exploration of what neurofeedback really is, and what to expect from it.

This course is for any therapeutically-trained professional with little or no background or experience with neurofeedback. Bring your questions and learn how neurofeedback can inform your approaches.

Why This Course?

"Many people misunderstand or are intimidated by neurofeedback. For example, therapists often express the mistaken belief that it inserts something into the brain, which it does not. This course will help clarify what neurofeedback is and what it is not, and who it can help."

- Leigh Povia

This course is intended to provide a space where participants can learn and ask questions to address neurofeedback's principles, its history, the methods used in neurofeedback, and finally explore how to evaluate a neurotherapist for referring clients.

What to Expect

Demystifying Neurofeedback will be a two-hour conversation with portions dedicated to answering questions from participants.

Get to Know Neurofeedback: Participants will be able to articulate a definition of neurofeedback and name different models or clinical approaches utilized through neurofeedback.

Learn How It Helps: Participants will learn the fundamentals of how neurofeedback works, how neurofeedback is used in a clinical capacity, and how it could be applied to different client populations in an appropriate manner.

Dig A Little Deeper: Participants will be informed about different networks of the brain, how they have been identified through past research, and how neurofeedback can be partnered with other therapeutic modalities to compliment an informed treatment plan.

Where to Go Next: Participants will hear about neurofeedback training, costs, and how to evaluate a neurotherapist's approach within the context of referring clients or patients.

Participants that complete this course and its assessments are eligible for 2 Continuing Education (CE) credits hours for their participation.
