The Sensory Exchange

Author-Led Clinical Reading Series

This four-part discussion series offers participants a unique opportunity to engage directly with the authors of Sensory Pathways to Healing from Trauma, a pioneering book that explores how trauma impacts the brain's sensory systems and the role of sensory-based interventions in recovery.

Each session will focus on specific chapters of the book, beginning with an introduction by the authors and followed by a community-driven discussion. Participants are encouraged to read the chapters in advance and submit questions to guide the conversation.

What to Expect

Author-Led Conversations: Explore key sections of the book enriched by author insights, practical takeaways, and questions from the community.

Interactive Community Format: Submit your questions ahead of time for discussion during each session. Enjoy a focused conversation on what matters most to participants.

Build on Your Existing Framework: Add a sensory lens to existing trauma-informed approaches like neurofeedback and DBR with skills and techniques developed from research and real-world use.

Participants that complete this course and its assessments are eligible for 4 Continuing Education (CE) credit hours for their participation.

Additional Information About EEG Learn Content

Zoom & Meeting Links Meeting links are shared on EEG Learn in the My Library & Announcements section. We also send the link via email 3 hours prior and 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. If you are having trouble joining a session, please write to us at [email protected] for assistance.

Communication with EEG Learn The primary method we use for communication is email. Please ensure the email address provided at checkout is correct and that you remain subscribed to receive emails from EEG Learn. This allows us to provide necessary communication about the course, including meeting links and any changes.

If you are expecting an email from us, please make sure that you are checking the correct email address that you registered with, as well as checking your spam or junk folder. If a message from us is appearing there, you may need to tell your email client to keep messages of that type in the future. If you have any questions, please feel free to write to us at [email protected].

Course Updates & Information We notify participants via the EEG Learn website and by email when changes or updates are made to a course. Most of the time, this will be notifying participants that new handouts or information about the course is available. We try to avoid larger changes, but sometimes things like the presenter’s schedule require that. In those cases, we’ll extend the ability to defer or refund attendance, as appropriate.

Session Recordings All sessions are recorded and will be available on EEG Learn following the course, usually within 1-2 weeks of when a live session happens. Please note that live attendance & participation is required to complete some courses, but most you can watch back at your own pace, or catch up on sessions that you miss. When session recordings become available, we’ll notify participants.

We make an effort to not include participants in the final session recordings for comfort and privacy reasons, but please be aware that audio, video, and chat messages you share may be present in the final session recordings. Situations where this may happen include: volunteering a question in chat or by raising your hand, leaving your microphone unmuted, or sharing information with the group.

If you would not like to be featured in the final session recording, please communicate with a member of our team during the live session. You may also reserve any questions or contributions until after the course to share and discuss on our community forum, an open space for ongoing discussion with staff, participants, and many of the presenters & mentors that we work with.

Continuing Education Credits EEG Education & Research (EEGER) is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. EEG Education & Research maintains responsibility for this program and its content. Courses that do not qualify for Continuing Education credits are noted during the checkout process. If you have any questions about whether a course qualifies for CEs or the number that are available, please write to us at [email protected].

Participants demonstrate their understanding of a course’s learning objective by completing graded assessments. Assessments are published alongside the course evaluation and session recordings from a course. After completing the course and passing all assessments, a certificate of completion will be provided.

If you encounter issues or questions, please write to us at [email protected].

Conflict of Interest and Commercial Support In these courses there is no conflict of interest nor commercial support for the programs. Any possible conflict of interest or other ethical ambiguity will be transparently and immediately reported as part of the promotional materials.

Accessibility and Non-Discrimination EEG Learn is committed to accessibility and non-discrimination. Understanding the limitations of diversity, equity, and inclusion as goals or end points, we see these as a part of our day-to-day work of learning and taking action. Please get in touch if you have thoughts or experiences to share.

Refund Policy Refunds are available within 24 hours of making a purchase. The refund amount is the total cost minus 10% to cover card processing. Refunds are not available for on-demand content or after the 24-hour cut-off. If you miss a live session, you will be provided access to session recordings. To request a refund, please write to us at [email protected].
