Key Information at a Glance

This course is designed to offer students a practical introduction to SubHz neurofeedback, a form of neurofeedback focused on measuring and modulating brainwave activity at a resolution of less than 1 Hz.

Through initial and ongoing research, this form of neurofeedback has shown promising results for supporting and regulating arousal and has received interest and support from leading clinicians in the community such as Sebern Fisher.

Technical Guide: Learn about the equipment needed for SubHz neurofeedback, including how to configure your existing EEGer installation to allow for SubHz training at no extra cost.

Add To Your Existing Approaches: Through community-led testing, SubHz has been observed to support clients managing attachment, wounding, and developmental trauma.

Clinical Application: Explore how to apply SubHz with your clients, the research behind this approach, and be supported with access to an invite-only SubHz channel on the EEGer Online Community.

Participants Who Complete This Course Can Earn 2 Continuing Education (CE) Credit Hours Upon Completion

Upon completion of this course and the provided assessments, attendees will demonstrate their ability to:

Explain the process of empowering self-regulation using low-frequency neurofeedback.

Describe how therapy and SubHz training is believed to support regulation of large-scale brain network activity.

Kyle Dern, LMFT, BCN

Kyle Dern is a long-time member of the EEGer community with extensive experience working in a client-focused, attuned approach. Kyle has experience working with all types of clients, with a focus on developmental trauma and shock associated with attachment rupture and attachment wounding.

Kyle began exploring SubHz using the EEGer software in 2023, adopting it as a primary form of neurofeedback training due to the quick results observed with clients. Through Kyle's work and dedication, a community initiative to explore what this type of training can offer has begun. Many clinicians around the world have begun to use SubHz training on its own and also alongside trauma-focused modalities such as Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), showing promising results for reaching the midbrain and brainstem.
