The Mind & The Brain
Join Sebern Fisher for a free inquiry discussion exploring the relationship between the mind and the brain in trauma therapy.Â
During this free one-hour session, Sebern Fisher will discuss a critical paradigm shift in trauma therapy. Rather than a focus on the mind alone, Sebern will emphasize the importance of focusing on both the mind and the brain. Grounded in her own experiences that necessitated this shift, the conversation will include defining these two important terms, exploring how they relate to one another and to trauma treatment, and considering how this paradigm shift is relevant in practice.Â
The conversation is inspired by the release of Sebern's memoir, The Hidden Book of First Things. Her experiences, both personal and therapeutic, that inspired her to turn attention to the brain are detailed in the memoir.Â
Participants are invited to share their ideas, reflections, and questions for this interactive discussion. Please join Sebern for this exploratory session! Â
What to Expect
Focus on Core Concepts Sebern will draw on her vast experience in the field of trauma therapy to define the mind, the brain, and why these both need to be at the center of treatment approaches.Â
Consider your Practice Participants are invited to reflect on their own practices to consider how this paradigm shift might be relevant to their therapeutic approach and their clients' experiences.Â
Interactive Conversation Participants will be encouraged to participate in the conversation by sharing their reflections, ideas, and questions for an interactive Q&A.Â
