Overview

The Beginner Attuned Neurofeedback Mentoring Course (BAMC) supports the early enhancement of foundational clinical neurofeedback skills. BAMC is unique in its weekly use of participants' prepared case consultations and spontaneous group questions to guide the teaching topics of the week. BAMC starts where you are and stretches with you as you gain greater confidence and capacity in your skills as a neurofeedback provider.

How Is This Course Different?

Your instructors provide a safe and respectful environment where every question has a place, and all experiences as neurofeedback providers are discussed with interest. BAMC combines the organic and relevant learning of a case consultation model with focused teaching of important clinical neurofeedback skills. Along with participant case presentations, group members may be asked to lead short discussions on a specific skill set to enhance both individual and group learning.

BAMC’s dynamic teaching and consultation model provides instruction and guidance to support your growth in becoming a versatile and confident neurofeedback provider. Our active participant format allows material to be easily integrated into your routine as you get ready to treat clients by introducing learning topics fitted to both individual and group goals. Our ‘grow-with-you' structure makes the course suitable as a continuation of your introductory training.

Who is this course for?

This course is designed for those new to neurofeedback. If you've completed an introductory neurofeedback course in the last six months we encourage you to enroll today!

The course is also included in the Clinical Pathway Bundle of the EEGer Introduction to Neurofeedback training course.

If you've been practicing neurofeedback for more than 6 months or have taken the mentoring course before, we offer a version for more seasoned providers: Ongoing Attuned Neurofeedback Mentoring Course.

Structure of the Course

Our 90-minute format requires live group participation.* Each participant will be assigned one or more individual case presentation times, and also may be asked to facilitate discussion on a particular skill set to advance the learning process. In preparation for scheduled presentations, participants are required to provide case presentation information several days in advance by posting on our Heartbeat! course community forum.

*Exceptions to live participation may be granted on an individual basis.

Foundational Skills

To support the learning objectives of BAMC participants, three foundational skills webinars are available through EEGer Learn. These courses are included for participants to aid them in getting the most out of their group presentations and mentoring discussions.

Ellen’s mentoring group is an invaluable investment to further learning about NF. Her expertise regarding assessment and tracking help guide protocol choices and advance practitioner skill level to achieve better training effects. As a gifted therapist, Ellen creates a positive, safe and well-attuned environment. Her passion for NF is evident in every session!

—Amy Kasternakis, LCSW

The Attuned NF Mentoring course with Ellen and Clair is wonderfully supportive! They are both encouraging and affirming, inspiring me to grow and have more confidence in this challenging and crucially important field. The group format urged me to be better organized and curious when presenting client information. It helped me to understand the process of assessment, to form hypotheses, and in practical applications. It is highly beneficial and can inspire your practice to a new level!
